Layout, displacement plugin.
The plugin operates on geometry of one object. It is able to find different
parts of the object - clones of the same model. It works perfect with
RandomCloner. It rotates the clones directly into your camera (or other
object) position. It may be very useful for low-poly animation or backgrounds
with a great deal of simple objects (trees) that should be visible only
from one side.

You can move your camera (object) wherever you need and geometry will
follow your changes.
Sometimes you may need to create background terrain with a forest. The
action would be taken in the centre of terrain. Foreground you can model
high resolution but there is no need to use millions of polygons for the
background. You can create one or few poly trees with photo textures,
and clone them on the terrain. Unfortunately some of your trees were placed
not viewable side to camera. You can rotate manually a great deal of trees
but what if you need to place a camera somewhere else on the terrain?
You would have to adjust trees rotation again. The better idea is to add
Face2Camera to trees object! You would be able to place your camera wherever
you need and trees would be rotated correctly to it. If you need to rotate
trees into different direction than your camera (for instance into light
direction for proper shadow generation) there is no problem.
