SmartMorph basics: driven key with IK quick start

This tutorial shows the best way to use smartMorph with a bone in an IK chain.

Apply smartMorph to the object you want to animate. Go to mixer tab and Add morph. At the bottom of the interface set it to driven-key and select a bone you want to use as a driver and its apropriate channel (H,P or B). This is the channel of the bone that will change morph intensity. Also disable SM auto-key in this case you want to set keys manually.
SM needs to know what bone angle corresponds to what morph intensity. First temporarly remove the bone (you use as a driver) from IK chain by setting its controllers to key-frames (in Motion Options panel).

Rotate it to one of the extreme positions. In SM change morph intensity to desired value and hit Set key button. Next rotate the bone to the other extreme position, set morph intensity and create another key. You can add keys in-between if you want. In this way you teach smartMorph how to change morph value according to a bone rotation (or any other item channel). Remember to change bone rotation in the same channel that you have selected in SM.
Now you are ready to switch back to IK. Once smartMorph knows how to convert a bone angle to morph intensity you can just focus on animation SM will do the rest of work for you :-)
If you already have your IK animation done and want to assign smartMorph you can also do it easily. Just move time slider to position where you want assign morph value, change morph intensity and hit Set key button. Movie time slider again and assign another morph value to different bone rotation. You can have SM auto key turn on in this case and just move time slider and than morph intensity (SM will remember each intensity change).
